MISSION PARTNER:
THE BURKE CENTER
The Burke Center for Youth provides a safe place for challenged boys and young men in foster care to grow, learn, and live at their 55-acre ranch.
The Burke Center for Youth provides therapeutic experiences and treatment services at the ranch to young men and boys from all parts of Texas. All children deserve a safe and supportive environment in which to flourish, and the Burke Center for Youth strives to promote healing and inspire hope for children in crisis. Through therapeutic treatment, foster care, and adoption or reunification, our ultimate goal is to help children rebuild their lives in a manner that will break the cycle of abuse and give them the tools necessary to be able to flourish.
WHY WE PARTNER
We partner with other nonprofit organizations whose missions we support, in order to accelerate the work they do by taking on the effort, time, and resources needed to accomplish projects for them and their clientele.
“You may never know how much you will change the life of someone you help, but you are planting a seed that one day may change their life forever. Our boys at the Burke Center have had bad things happen to them, and they need people who can love them unconditionally and show them they are worthy of love, even if they think they are not.”
- Steve Fournier, Executive Director, the Burke Center
SERVING at THE BURKE CENTER
Serve Days at The Burke Center span a wide variety of projects from demolition and construction to general maintenance and yard work. They are scheduled on the Saturday of each month, with some exceptions, and are posted on our Serve Days page when you can sign up to serve.
All volunteers age 18+ serving here will be asked to complete a background check for the safety of the boys living at the ranch and for protection of our volunteers. All background checks are subject to review and approval by Cornerstone.
