Cornerstone Restoration exists to build meaningful relationships between our vulnerable neighbors and volunteer community through construction-related projects.

  • All it takes is a heart ready to serve. No special skills or experience are needed, just a willing spirit and the openness to jump in where help is needed most. Serve Days are usually a great opportunity for kids around age 10 and up, and our team would love to help you discern the best fit for each project.

  • We stand with the vulnerable and the forgotten. We serve neighbors facing hardship, isolation, and instability with the love of Christ and the care of a committed community.

  • We restore homes, strengthen hearts, and rebuild hope. Our Serve Days put the love of Christ into action through meaningful projects ranging from yard work and painting to building homes and serving in large community projects in impoverished or isolated communities.

New World Soccer Field

The CR team continues to step into the very real stage of turning a vacant piece of the property into a community Soccer Field!  This is a big undertaking, that has required enthusiastic volunteer workers, community partners with heavy equipment, and knowledgeable advisors.  Praise God for providing the means to accomplish this wonderful work!

We will focus on continuing to prepare the site and build a retaining wall - eventually leading to seeding the soil with grass seed, and field and goal construction.  Bring your gloves, old work clothes, and your love for fellowship!

This is a BIG campaign that will require rental of heavy equipment and purchase of soccer goals, masonry materials, and fuel for the equipment, among other supplies.  Therefore, please prayerfully consider donating to meet our campaign goal of $4,500, as we step into this blessing that the Lord has provided for the residents of this wonderful community and for our faithful volunteers!

Ms. Dominique's

The CR team will once again return to Ms. Dominique's to continue doing various home repairs and some drywall work.

Please continue to pray for Dominique and her son to receive provision, comfort, and wisdom during this challenging season of life!  She has already stated very emotionally that CR showing up is a specific answer to prayers that she has been praying for and journaling about – Praise the Lord!

Let’s continue to rally to provide some love, encouragement, hope, and relief to this wonderful young family!

The CR team recently met a young, single mother and her 8-year-old son who live just down the street from Ms. Paula’s (a wonderful CR neighbor) out in Burnet, TX.  Dominique inherited her family home from her grandmother, but time has taken its toll on several areas of the house.  Over the last 10 years, Dominique has also been lovingly and selflessly helping to care for many family members in need -- 3 hospice patients that fell ill to cancer, her uncle who suffered from mental illness and was unable to keep employment, her younger sister, two cousins when they were unable to stay in their homes, and even providing spiritually, physically and financially for her beloved grandmother.  Currently, Dominique is taking care of her mother while she is on unpaid leave.  She is young and willfully determined but does not ask for assistance and never complains about anything – even donating her time and energy to several non-profit organizations.

Ms. Diane

Ms. Diane

Ms. Diane Wilson is a retired 82-year-old who faithfully serves the Women’s Fellowship class at her church in many ways from sending out the prayer requests to organizing a monthly get-together and also scheduling the weekly leader for the class. In addition to these things, she is a true prayer warrior and she models the love of Christ to those around her!

Diane lives on a fixed income and has taken to doing various cleaning jobs to make ends meet.  In the past year, she has had some unexpected and fairly expensive home and auto repairs that were challenging. Additionally, another unexpected expense is coming up to repair something else on her vehicle.  With all of this, Diane was concerned about how she would be able to fix wood rot in the atrium of her home and a few other items around the house.  Though she tries to do many of the "handy" repairs around the home herself, some of these have now gone beyond her abilities.

But then, the Lord stepped in and through a friend, Diane was referred to Cornerstone Restoration!

The CR team will be replacing siding outside the house and working on some other inside home repairs.

Let’s come out and support this wonderful new neighbor and show her that we are in this together... as the body of Christ!

Reynosa

Reynosa Serve Trip - Make the Trip and Make a Difference in your life and the lives of these children!

Cornerstone is heading back to Reynosa!

We’re excited to announce that Cornerstone is teaming up once again with our long-time ministry partner, Rio Bravo to serve the community of Reynosa, Mexico.

Rio Bravo provides a safe, faith-based home for children who have been abandoned, abused, or neglected. At any given time, around 60+ children live on campus, cared for by loving house parents. Rio Bravo has also built schools—from elementary through high school—serving not only the children on-site but the wider Reynosa community.

Our current project list includes:

  • Demolishing and building interior walls

  • Electrical work

  • Plumbing

  • Painting

  • And all the surprises God brings along the way!

This trip,  we will be building transformation dorms for young adults who have graduated from the orphanage and school—those who may not be pursuing college but are preparing to step out and live on their own. These dorms will be a place of hope, guidance, and stability, helping them transition into adulthood with support, dignity, and purpose. .

All skill levels and trades are needed! If you have a willing heart and a desire to serve, there’s a place for you on this team.

Stay tuned... more details to come!

Jarrel & Angela Jones

Jarrel and Angela are a sweet elderly couple that the CR team has served several times in the past, and we want to bless them more!

We have previously restored their home exterior, their water well, and removed mountains of debris from around the home to make things safer for them.  We want to go back and finish the work on the property that we started in February 2026, so we will load up some more debris and clear out as much dead brush as we can.

If you haven't made it out to their home before, you will be surprised by the blessing of encouragement that you get from serving this wonderful couple!

Multi-Serve Day

Multi-Serve Day @ Warehouse, Spicewood, Bertram, S. Austin

On Thursday April 16th, the amazing CR Volunteers and staff will seek to finish various small items at multiple neighbors' locations and to complete some inventory prep at the CR Warehouse.

There are several "punch list" items that need completion at Ms. Kena's in Spicewood, Ms. Renita's in Bertram, and Ms. Barbara "Butterfly's" in South Austin.  At the CR Warehouse, there is a need to organize and sort items that have been previously donated so that the CR team can use them efficiently for neighbors in the future.  Several teams will be deployed to accomplish these tasks.

If you are a First-time Volunteer, don't regularly serve, or are unsure where you might best serve, please meet at the CR Warehouse at 8:00 AM to initially gather and then determine where to go serve on this day.

For our CR-experienced Volunteers who are familiar with the service needs at some of these locations, please coordinate ahead of time regarding where you plan to serve -- by emailing:  Rusty.Clark@cornerstonerestoration.org   and  Gustavo@cornerstonerestoration.org

Thank You as always for being willing and faithful in service to what the Lord is doing in and through Cornerstone Restoration to bless our neighbors in need!

Ms. Paula’s

As the CR team continues to build a relationship with Ms. Paula and meet some of her physical needs, we continue to see God working in what we are doing and also see the community around her noticing and starting to move -- Praise the Lord!

For this Serve Day, the team will return to Ms. Paula's to work on the siding of the home and window replacements.

If you have previously seen the condition of Ms. Paula's home, this would be a good day to put on your calendar to see the wonderful transformation of her home from a source of darkness and stress to a place of comfort and peace for her!  The opportunity to put God's love on display has continued to increase with each time the team returns.  If you haven't yet met Ms. Paula, you are in for a blessing... we guarantee it!

Ms. Paula is the hard-working, loving Mom of one of Cornerstone's amazing Business Partners.  She has worked hard her whole life, including raising her children mostly as a single parent.  She, into retirement age, continues to work hard to make ends meet.  Her home, where she raised her family, is falling apart around her.  When you drive up, it is a cute home with a well-maintained yard, where you can see love lives, walk inside,  see the pride she takes in it,  the photos of her family, and feel the love!  Look closely and you will see the walls have holes allowing the outside to come in, open the cabinets under the sink and view the backyard, many electrical outlets no longer work due to electrical fires caused simply by plugging something in.  Let's show Christ's love by  coming together to rebuild her home, making it safe for her, her children, and her grandchildren!

Lois Canfield

Lois Canfield

Ms. Lois is an elderly widow and the daughter of a WW2 veteran.  She has lived in her house for more than 20 years and loves her neighbors and the beautiful old town neighborhood of Georgetown. She has a wonderful life story and deeply loves the Lord!

Ms. Lois recently turned 85 years young, and it appears that it is getting harder for her to climb up and down the stairs.  She needs help with ramps on the porches of her home so she can safely get in and out of the house.  There will be lots to saw work and nail work, but also some opportunity to meet Lois and hear her wonderful stories... so save the date!

We love that this Serve Day will provide an opportunity to help Lois be in community with other believers through a simple act of service.  If you cannot make it out to serve, please prayerfully consider donating to be a part of this wonderful opportunity that the Lord has provided to CR.

Also, please pray that we can meet our campaign goal of $700 as we begin preparing to bless Lois with these repairs to her home.

Kena Ragland

Ms. Kena is a hardworking woman who has faced so much. A cancer survivor with many medical challenges, she continues to work hard despite losing her husband to dementia over three years ago. With her son living out of state, she’s been doing her best to maintain her home but has reached a point where she needs help.

Ms. Kena's original request came to us from her daughter-in-law's mother.  And, while Ms. Kena has done what she can over the years, even purchasing some materials, she just simply doesn’t have the means to complete all of the work needed around her home.

This is where the hands and feet of Jesus comes in!  Your generosity—whether through time, resources, or prayer—will not only transform Ms. Kena’s home, but will also remind her that she is not alone.  For this Serve Day, the CR team will install some flooring so that her grandkids have a place when they stay with her.

When you meet Ms. Kena, you will be blessed to encounter her lively personality and her love for the Lord!

Please prayerfully consider donating to support this wonderful neighbor!

Barbara “Butterfly”

Barbara “Butterfly”, as she is so affectionately known, is a longtime friend and neighbor of Cornerstone Restoration that we have been helping for a while, as she is widowed and handicapped, and in need of lots of tender love and care for her home.

Work to be done will include:  large tree removal; general lawn care; painting of door trim and some house exterior; window cleaning inside and out

This is a wonderful opportunity for a group to fellowship alongside Barbara down in South Austin, and to spend a Christ-centered morning serving this lovely neighbor!

Come spend some time doing good old work around her home and take a few minutes to pause and get to meet this wonderful neighbor!
